After graduating from the Kyōto School of Arts and Crafts Suikō worked with Suishō Nishiyama and later with Shinsen Tokuoka. Suikō painted his flower and (or) bird pictures using the nihonga style. Thirty examples are shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Hawks were one of Suikō’s favorite bird subjects. He also published some of his art as woodblock prints.
